If you’re a BlackHeart Bike Co. fan and like racing gravel, start clearing your parts bin now. The all-new Gravel AL (no mistakin’ with that name) from BlackHeart is the company’s new aluminum gravel race bike. The Gravel AL takes inspiration from the other BlackHeart designs but weaves in aero touches, hoping to make it a competitive option for the gravel racer looking for something unique.
How does it differ from the All-Road?
BlackHeart used the success geometry of its Road Ti design as a jumping-off point. The frame boasts a gently slopping top tube with a slight flare, aero Kamm tail downtube, and dropped seat stays. The aero-integration comes via integrated internal routing and some tweaks to the geometry to make it more gravel-specific. The design team reworked the rear triangle to fit up to 47mm tires for those that roll heavy.
BlackHeart Gravel Al Frame Details
The Gravel AL frame is crafted with premium 7005 double-butted tubing. It supports a T47 bottom bracket and a standard 31.6mm seatpost. The new Gravel AL takes advantage of the SRAM UDH rear derailleur hanger.
All new frames feature front and rear fender mounts, plus three auxiliary cargo mounts on the fork which is provided by ENVE.
What groupsets are compatible? The frame looks the cleanest with electronic groupsets but works with mechanical groupsets. The setup allows for 1X and 2X configurations, including SRAM Transmission super mullet builds.
Free Custom Paint (Cerakote)!
BlackHeart offers every frameset and build to include a custom Cerakote frame finish. Now, riders can choose from the 137 H-Series paint color options for the frame and logo. For those looking to get extra matchy, the Enve fork can be color-matched for an additional $200.
