Mondraker’s new Kids MTB lineup includes 2 full-suspension platforms and hardtails in 4 wheelsizes to kit out the next generation of mountain bikers on inspirational rides. The progressive Spanish mountain bike maker wants families to ride together, and keep riding together. So, Mondraker put together a comprehensive Kids mountain bike range that goes from starter bikes with 16″ wheels all the way up to 26″ full-suspension trail bikes you’d be hard-pressed to pick-out from their modern adult mountain bikes.
On top of that, Mondraker sneaks in two Play-series hardtail or full-suspension lightweight ebikes to give young riders the little extra boost they need to join fit parents for longer rides.
2024 Mondraker Kids wide mountain bike range
Mondraker says they take kids bikes “very seriously”. So, they aimed to give kids adult-level performance and all their latest tech advancements. Bikes that look, feel & ride just like their adult bikes out on the trail with the fam.
The latest evolution of their Zero Suspension setup and progressive Forward Geometry. Proper 2.4″ tires and dropper post compatibility across the range. Plus, the literal same materials with which they build their popular alloy Foxy and Raze mountain bikes for adults.
And topping it all off, suspension with lighter kid-specific shock tunes and build kits that focus on performance & lightweight, at pricepoints that shouldn’t break your parent’s bank.
Trick hardtails with 16”, 20”, 24”, or 26” wheels
Your first mountain bike probably was and your kid’s first mountain bike probably should be a hardtail. The new Mondraker Trick is a no-nonsense mountain bike for all ages with options for 16”, 20”, 24”, or 26” wheels. For such a simple bike, it’s a big step up from their old Leader. And looks a lot more like a proper modern Mondraker adult hardtail.
All are built with light Alloy Stealth Evo 6061 aluminum. And get proper modern details like sensible internal cable routing, 12x142mm hub spacing, and a UDH mech hanger. (The 16″ is a single-speed with horizontal track ends dropouts.) And proper 2.4″ tires, even if they aren’t tubeless ready out of the box.
Each comes in one frame size per wheelsize.
The Trick 16 sells for $750 / 600€. Trick 20 for $950 / 750€. The Trick 24 for $1550 / 1200€. And Trick 26 for $1750 / 1400€.
F-Trick full-suspension trail bikes with 24” or 26” wheels
At the top level Mondraker has scaled-down their 6061 alloy 130mm Raze trail bike to build a full-suspension mountain bike to give kids proper adult level performance. First, off the list, the all-new F-Trick gets Forward Geometry tweaked for smaller riders. Then, the same recently updated Zero Suspension System with more progressive kinematics as the XC F-Podium & all-mountain Neat. That update alone brings improved initial small bump sensitivity and better compliance out on the trail in a lighter, more compact system with less unsprung weight.
And it adds more travel than ever for a Mondraker Kids full-suspension bike. With 24″ wheels kids get 120mm of travel front & rear. Or on 26″ wheels that scales up to 130mm of rear wheel travel paired to a 140mm fork.
In the details, both bikes get proper Boost 12x148mm thru-axles, a UDH, a BSA BB, short 30mm stems, powerful disc brakes (2-piston for the 24″ & 4-piston for the 26″), and dropper posts.
Again each comes in one frame size per wheelsize. The F-Trick 24 sells for $2600 / 2300€. And the F-Trick 26 for $2800 / 2500€.
Mondraker Kids eBikes too!
Matching up each of the two regular kids mountain bike lines are a couple of matching Play-series light ebike variants. These are developed to offer just a little bit of support to extend how far your kids can ride and how much cumulative climbing they can do in a ride with a bit of pedal assist. The Play & F-Play both feature Mahle’s lightweight 40Nm ebikemotion X35 hub motor out back and small 250Wh batteries tucked inside their alloy downtubes. Plus, the option for a 210Wh range extender exclusively on the 26″ hardtail & 26″ full-suspension ebikes.
The intention was more to create a light & smooth pedal-assist that retained a natural ride feel for young mountain bikers. But it also resulted in the Play & F-Play being almost indiscernible from the Trick & F-Trick unless you look really close.
Play ebike hardtails with 20”, 24”, or 26” wheels
Just like the Trick, the Play ebike comes in lots of wheelsizes to fit many young riders. Pretty much the only difference for the ebike hardtails is a slightly larger downtube that drops a bit steeper to finish in front of the threaded BB shell, with a built-in molded rubber bashguard over the battery access. The result is a good low weight and balance front to rear.
Again, light Alloy Stealth Evo 6061 aluminum frames & Forward Geometry. Proper 2.4″ tires, internal cables & dropper compatibility. But classic QR dropouts to work with the 9mm bolt-on axle of the X35 hub motor. (The 20″ model gets reduced power and a reduced top speed to keep smaller riders safely in check.)
Each again comes in one frame size per wheelsize. The Play 20 sells for $3000 / 2400€. Play 24 for $3200 / 2800€. And the Play 26 for $3400 / 2900€.
F-Play full-suspension trail ebikes with 24” or 26” wheels
Then at the top of the Mondraker Kids ebike family is the full-suspension F-Play.

It’s pretty much exactly like the hardtail solution, carbon copy the F-Trick but give it a Mahle X35 motor and a 250Wh battery inside a forward downtube to create the F-Play. It’s the same 24″ wheels with 120/120mm travel or 26″ wheels with 140/130mm travel front & rear. Lightweight, light and natural pedal assist, plus the latest kinematics upgrades and modern Forward Geometry.
The 6061 alloy F-Play ebike also comes in one frame size per wheelsize. The F-Play 24 sells for $3700 / 3300€. And the F-Play 26 for $4000 / 3500€.
