Yeah, for the same reason I bought a Festka. They’ll route your cables anyway you want.

I understand that it saves less than a watt at the speeds of the vast majority.

I don’t think you can draw a straight line here, but I definitely believe that the insanity of “aero everything” with bikes is part of the reason why interest is waning, meanwhile the kooks at Rivendell are on their third record-setting year and all the young cyclists I know want a Crust.

I think the problems are that Shimano / SRAM can’t add couplers because they don’t know which bike they will be assembled on and therefore where to put the couplers, and that it would add a lot of time for assembly factories if they have to split the hose, add the couplers and re-bleed the brakes. That would add significant cost to the final bike price for a feature which most people wouldn’t need.

Whose side are you guys on: the side of cyclists or the side of the sponsors that pay your bills?

Do they need a revision? They’re pretty perfect as they are.

Sambuy is one example of a ski area that is closing permanently. Saint-Firmin is another. Both are small areas, both in France, and the only ones I know of from the top of my head, but I’m sure there are more (or will be quite soon).

I’m a huge advocate for FS gravel bikes. The FS gravel bikes I think about are have more of a integrated suspension system ie; Trek SuperCaliper, Specialized Stumpjumper(the one with the shock mounted in the toptube), Scott Spark RC and even the existing Cannondale Topstone with increased travel. The bike cannot look like a mtb and needs at least 50mm travel with 60-75mm of travel front and rear preferable. An easy and effective lock out would probably be preferred.
This type of bike probably wouldn’t be the choice amongst top gravel racing pro’s, but for everyone else, these would be a viable option”

That and as mentioned in the predictions, it’s kind of refreshing to see round-tubed steel bikes here and there at gravel events and CX races.

Electromagnetic brakes, the next big thing, on ebikes.
Hydraulic spoon brakes, gets rid of overbuilt carbon disk forks. 😉
